On a recent ghost hunting night, the activity we encountered was amazing, read this article if you dare

The ghost hunting began in the dark atmospheric cellars, many ghost hunters complained of being touched and having their hair or arms tugged, but what shocked the group more was the sudden sound of approaching footsteps down the empty corridor. The infra red sensors were set off and reset on numerous occassions in the eerie dark cellars in this the first of many frightening vigils. 

An unexplained tapping noise was heard too in the cold cellars, also many noticeable black shadows that fleeted in and out of the cellars that most ghost hunters witnessed could not be explained. The K2 meter was also inexplicably interferred with by the spirit world, spiking on a regular basis when requested too. As we ventured off into our smaller groups what surprises would enlighten us and frighten us from the unseen ghostly world of Knottingley Town Hall.

In the dance room, one group was treated to an entertaining display of table tipping by the former inhabitants of the building, the sight of this shocked both Annette and Pauline as the table literally danced around the room to the sound of music from an iphone which amazed all the ghost hunters in the room.

In the Main Hall, our ghost hunters Lee, Jenny and Pauline were shocked to hear the sound of whistling coming from a vacant area of the Main Hall. When we called out for the ghostly occupants to pour us a drink, the sound of drinking glasses tapping against each other was then heard from behind the security shutters of the bar room.

In a later vigil in the cellar, the infra red motion sensors were set off on numerous occasions, even in the full gaze of the stunned ghost hunters, Michelle, Emma and Joanne who were there investigating as to why the alarm had sounded in the first place, nothing untoward was found to have set the alarms off, was this the actions of spectral beings from the spirit world, toying with our equipment.

Glass divination was recorded in many of the vigils, and some aggressive banging and tapping was also heard when calling out to the ghostly inhabitants to communicate with our ghost hunters.

Brian Townsend: On His Collusion Allegations

We all heard about Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius sitting in on the online poker games. One of the biggest mover among poker player you may not know a lot about is Brian Townsend – largely known for his success playing No Limit Hold 'Em and Pot-Limit Omaha at Full Tilt Poker, playing under the nickname "sbrugby".

On top of this poker successes, Brian Townsend has become a world class poker instructor on a popular training site Cardrunners.com. Last Novemnber 2009, Brian Townsend took a heads up match against "Isildur1". They played four tables of $200/$400 PLO (deep). Just recently Townsend got his own avatar and it seemed to give him edge over "Isildur1" as he won 1,107,300 dollars.

Allegations Brian Townsend's Multiple Accounts

In September 2008, Brian Townsend make a controversy when he admits the rumors that he uses 2 accounts on both largest and renowned online casino poker sites, Full Tilt and PokerStars. Brian Townsend issued a public apology after suspicions regarding his possible multiple account (a disallowed practice known as "multiaccounting") play on the sites above drew increasing public attention. Generally known as "aba20" on PokerStars, he also admitted to playing under "Makersmark66" at relatively lower stakes on the site. At Full Tilt, where he plays most publicly under his "Brian Townsend" red-pro name, he also admitted to playing the account "Stellarnebula".

Brian Townsend made the public announcement after discussing the matter with Lee Jones, the former poker room manager with PokerStars and later the executive host of the European Poker Tour, who moved on to become the COO of CardRunners. As a form of restitution for his violation of the sites' rules, he also announced that he will be donating $25,000 to a yet-to-be-determined charity, paid for from his CardRunners earnings.

However, online poker site Full Tilt, where Brian Townsend and other CardRunners poker pros have an ongoing Business relationship, quickly announced that Brian Townsend would be suspended from "red pro" status on the site for 6 months.

Another Contoversy: Brian Townsend On Collusions

Although after his 6 months suspension, Brian Townsend was actively playing poker online. However, Brian Townsend has another controversy wherein he will lead to suspension. The Full Tilt poker pro Brian Townsend has been pulled off from his "red pro" status for 1 month with the allegations that Tonsend shared a database of 50,000 hands with Isildur1 throtthler Brian Hasting.

The allegations, which claimed Cole South, Brian Hastings and Brian Townsend "colluded" to cheat Isildur1. The first public comments made by any of the accused came from an ESPN interview with Hastings and Townsend after Hastings' big win. According to Brian Hastings, the three players worked together to understand and find weaknesses in Isildur1's game.

Facing allegations of cheating, colluding and multi-accounting, Brian Townsend has come clean, resulting in his second suspension from Full Tilt. However, Brian Townsend clear up the allegations in his blog in Cardrunners.com. Here are some of the snippets of his comments:

"I wanted to clear up some allegations about Brian Hastings, Cole South and myself. First Brian H. Cole S. and myself never colluded. Collusion is nearly impossible HU but there was always one person playing and never any ghosting occurring. In fact the only person to break the T&C of FullTilt Poker was myself. I had about 20k hands of play on Isildur1 and I acquired another 30k hands. This is against the T&C of FullTilt Poker and because of this violation I am going to have my red pro status suspended for one month."

"I have never played on Brian H's or Cole S's account. As for 'conglomerating hand histories,' it's simply not an accurate statement. I analyzed the database I put together, and the three of us chatted about my analysis, and optimal strategy against Isildur1. According to Full Tilt's T&C this is a permissible discussion as it's super common for players at all stakes to discuss strategy and certain players tendencies."

Antidepressant Horror Stories

While the pharmaceutical companies would like the public to believe that SSRI and similar medications do not have serious side effects past the occasional upset stomach or mild headache, the internet has enabled the true scope of adverse effects and conditions caused by these drugs to become known.  For many years doctors simply took as ‘verbatim’ that the side effect profile listed on the package insert was the “whole” story and that reports of extreme reactions, even suicidal and violent, were mere aberrations or ‘exaggerated accounts. 

The Vioxx tragedy opened the public’s eyes…and some doctors…to the reality that many, if not most of the time, pharmaceutical companies do not reveal the whole truth about the drugs they submit for FDA approval.  In fact, the FDA approval process itself is largely contaminated as board members and those in positions to evaluate drugs for approval are often on the payroll or promised positions in the pharmaceutical industry as long as they ‘play along’ and approve the billion dollar earning drugs that pharmaceutical companies want them to. 

It was revealed in a landmark 1996 report that fully half of the initial research studies conducted for the preliminary approval of SSRI drugs had negative, even suicidal results.  Patients that took SSRI drugs had a TWELVE TIMES risk of attempting suicide than other antidepressant drugs yet this data was buried and never mentioned during the FDA approval process.  More recently, the most elaborate and sophisticated study completed yet found that SSRI and similar medications had no statistical improvement over placebo and in fact caused a number of adverse reactions that made the use of the drugs questionable at best.

There are many true stories about the kinds of bizarre and dangerous unintended reactions and side effects that antidepressants can cause.  The most dangerous are the relatively frequent reports of  suicidal ideation as well as unexpected rages and violence.  Some patients have slipped into psychosis acting and behaving in ways totally unlike themselves and having no memory of it afterwards when removed from the drugs.  Less violent, but perhaps no less important side effects of taking SSRI and similar drugs include changes in likes and dislikes.  Numerous people have experienced effects such as a person that always loved chocolate that suddenly couldn’t stand it after being put on the drug.  Another reported not caring that local teenagers were riding over her lawn with their cars and bikes when it used to always bother her.   There are numerous reports of people ‘not caring’ about important things in their life, such as career duties or relationship boundaries after being placed on these drugs. 

The impairment of judgement is a theme that runs through many reports of people that have had adverse reactions to SSRI, SNRI and similar drugs.  There is the case of a doctor who for 25 years had always been conscientious, on time and a perfectionist running a successful medical practice.  Shortly after beginning antidepressants he started coming into work late, making careless mistakes during work and ‘not caring’ or ‘not thinking it was important’.  He eventually made medical mistakes that caused him to lose his practice and his medical license and the entire time he ‘didn’t really care’…because he was on SSRI drugs.  When he finally was removed from the antidepressant, his ‘senses’ came back to him and he was ‘aware’ of how his personality had changed.   If he had never been on the medication, would he have ever let himself do those things?  Probably not.  Therein lies the problem.  Once you are on a drug that changes your mind, it is too late.  Unless an outside observer notices the changes in you, it is too late.  You don’t have another ‘brain’ to make sure the one that is on drugs is acting properly.
