The Heart of Thanksgiving is a Hand That Receives
The Heart of Thanksgiving is a Hand That Receives.
A man of God once said, "if you want to know a person that is an ingrate or full of ingratitude, is the one that always carry long face whenever you see him or her". I seem to angry with him, because those people in that mood are always of thinking of what God has not done for them and fail to appreciate Him for what He has done.
The truth here is that anyone born of a woman must go through challenges, from the day you were formed in the womb to the time you die. Do you know why you need these challenges? You need it because you must go to the next level. No Exam, no promotion. No competition, no winner. No war, no Victory.
The greatest war or battle you had ever faced all your life was the battle of your birth. You fought with 999,999 individuals, competing for one or at most twelve tickets of survivor. Is either you were a single birth or twins or even a dozen at once. The truth is that God's mercy made you prevailed and you stayed in the womb just taking liquids for survival for 9 months, you escaped miscarriage, what a battle of death and life. You know what? If you didn't survive that, no one on earth and even in heaven would have known you because you never existed. Glory to God. I want to announce to you that God has just done 80% miracle for you, then what is 20% that He cannot do.
David understood the power of thanksgiving. Psalm 119:164 "Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments". No wonder David was a man after God's heart, because anytime David wants God attention, he lobbies his way in with thanksgiving and being cheerful.
2 Cor. 9:7 " Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver". You cannot praise God well with a long face and with a heart full of complains and ingratitude. Sometimes in Church, when it is time for testimony, you will hear the coordinator saying, "For the fact that you are alive is a testimony" And it is has been a custom now and very familiar with us, that it doesn't make meaning anymore to us. My brother and sister, if you must receive from God especially on issues that has been prayed for and you are experiencing delay, switch to be a grateful person and have a cheerful heart. Until Hannah switched from sorrowful heart to a grateful and a cheerful heart woman, she remained barren.
1 Samuel 1:15-19
" And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunken neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. [16] Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto. [17] Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. [18] And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
[19] And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her."
The only way to make God know you are grateful person and attend to your prayer request, is to be cheerful and be grateful for the other things He has done.
How Do I Know Am An Ingrate Towards God.
- Whenever I become over familiar with God, I tend to ignore things that are more important to God and do what is in my mind and probably feel God is merciful. Some people feel they are busy for God, but in God's eye, they are busy doing nothing.

Is it Possible For me to be Thankful even after I have suffered so much loss or I just losed something or someone dear to me?
Humanly, is not possible not to feel pains when you are hurt. But what I want you to understand here is that you need to be spiritually alert, so that you won't loose God's sympathy and His presence. Is better God pitied me than human beings. The devil is very cunning and crafty. He tries to take away your joy by making you believe in lies or put more emphasis on things that are less important. So try to be joyful always. Don't give room for sorrowful atmosphere around you If possible.
Let me give you a testimony about my Pastor and myself. My Pastor, despite how God was using her to display His glory, the devil was really causing havoc in her life. She became so sick that she couldn't walk for months. If she must go anywhere, she will be carried. She said, anytime she tries to walk, the ground looks like potholes and sinking in her eyes. So, if she makes up her mind to walk, that fear of falling comes on her. She said despite her prayer, things were still worse. Until she rose up the Lion of tribe of Judah in her, who is the joy of her strength, she got up and started to run and never cared if she fell. And after she ran for a while, she discovered she never fell and that is how her healing came. Glory to God.
NOTE: Don't get me wrong here. Am not saying when uncertainties happen, you shouldn't pray hard about it. All am saying is, don't let it get you worked up to the point you become sorrowful and start to discredit God and empower the devil.
In the case of myself, I will pray and put more effort to the things of God, but the devil kept having fun on my life. I will have dreams that are weird, seeing myself in primary school or secondary school writing exams despite being a university graduate for eight years. I also see myself eating in the dream, flying in the dream and having sex. Even after I have gone for deliverance and many men of God have laid hands on me, it still persists. There was one that was annoying, anywhere I go I see cobwebs physically on my face, even where you don't expect cobwebs, sometimes in a field or open place, is so absurd to me. I will pray and pray but nothing keeps happening. And I was really losing my Joy. Even a stranger could look at my face and see through that something is wrong. One day, I met the woman of God, and she told me her story that I earlier on shared above, and she said, there are things you have to ignore, the way you see things, that is the way it will work for you, so I decided to see the cobwebs as Gods glory. And anytime it comes on me, I see it as information carrier, telling me that there is good news ahead. And since then, good things started to unfold itself. My long time dream and God's promise to me to travel abroad started to unfold and since then it worked for me. Glory to God!
Don't celebrate sorrow. Rejoice. Do anything godly to bring about joy around you because that is where your vision will be clearer and hear God well and from there you draw strength, courage, wisdom, anointing and power to overcome.
Neh. 8:10.

In kind I mean, if for example am believing God for a child, I could join the children Church department and make a child happy to the point that they might even start calling you mummy or daddy. That is try to make others grateful to God on your behalf because of the great good impact you have over them.
