Ssese Islands. Looking for quite and peaceful white sand beaches? You can take boats from Kasenyi landing site off Entebbe Road to many of the Ssese islands, but tourist's facilities are available only on Bugala, Bukasa and Banda Islands.

Lake Bunyonyi.This is a travelers paradise located in southwestern Uganda .Set between rolling hills with breath taking green scenery, the deepest lake in Africa standing at 25km long and 7km wide is dotted with at least 29 small islands .It is popular with bird species from which it derives its name Bunyonyi(little birds).
Located 7km west of Kabale town, the lake is surrounded by beautiful lodges; Lake Bunyonyi Safari Resort,Bunyonyi Overland Resort, Arcadia Cottages,Bushara Island Camp, and Crater Cottages, among others.
Jinja.For those who just go through the town, they call is a ghost town, but Jinja has more to offer than what you see from your car window. Best known for its location at the source of the River Nile, for many visitors it is not Jinja town they come to visit, but to experience the white water rafting, quad biking and bungee jumping conducted on the Nile some 8km out of Jinja at the Bujagali Falls.
Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park lies 5-6 hours from Kampala on a surfaced road through Mbarara.From open savannah to rainforest, dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward, it is little wonder that Queen Elizabeth boasts of one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world.
Almost 100 animals' species and a remarkable 606 bird species make this superb safari territory, with elephant, hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda kob all regularly sighted around the tourist village in the shadow of the Ruwenzori Mountains.
Queen Elizabeth is also famed for the Ishasha Sector and its tree-climbing lions, the Kyambura Gorge and its habituated chimps, the Maramagambo forest, home to an alluring selection of forest monkeys and birds, and flocks of flamingo's resident on the crater lakes.
Murchison Falls National Park. This is the largest national park in Uganda. It is named for the dramatic Murchison Falls. Where the Nile, the worlds longest river, explodes violently through a narrow ravine to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Located northwest of Masindi town, this is an ideal place for one looking out for time off with their family.
Sipi Falls.Sipi Falls is actually a series of three waterfalls all plunging along the lower slopes of Mt. Elgon in Eastern Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa,northwest of Sironko and Mbale.There are a number of hotels/campsites in the area offering a range of accommodation for all budgets.
With a cooler climate than most of the country, Sipi Falls is a nice place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and cities. And the Kapchorwa sky at night? Priceless.
Kidepo National Park.Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Uganda's most spectacular parks. It is 1,442square kilometers and harbours scenery unsurpassed by any other park in East Africa. Tucked into the corner of Uganda's border with Sudan and Kenya, the park offers breathtaking savannah landscapes, which end in rugged horizon.
From Kidepo, you may also visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs, which are located only 11km from Kidepo river valley. The park also boasts of ostriches and Uganda's only cheetah. There is accommodation at up market Apoka Lodge where a double cottage costs.
Bwindi/Mgahinga.These two national parks have over 90 animal species each, but the biggest centre of attraction is the mountain gorilla. Bwindi can be reached from Queen Elizabeth in the north (2-3 hours),from Kabale to the south(1-2 hours) ,or from Kampala via Mbarara(6-8 hours).The roads meet at Butogota,17km from Buhoma entrance gate.
You can also access the park on the Kisoro side at Nkuringo and Nshongi.Not far away from Bwindi is Mgahinga national park on the border with Congo and Rwanda. This is a pricey venture with tracking permits going for as much as $500 for non-Uganda tourists, but everyone who has seen a silverback calls the adventure worth more than that.So,if you are loaded, go to Bwindi! There is a four-star lodge open now.
Mountaineering. If you are looking for a lifetime adventure, you don't have to look far. Our own Mt.Ruwenzori is exquisite .Reaching an elevation of 5,109m, Rwenzori has been rated by hikers as the most challenging of all Africa Mountains.
The 120km Ruwenzori chain is regarded to be the legendary snow-capped Mountains of the Moon, described by Ptolemy in 150AD.The distinctive glacial peaks are visible for miles around, but the slopes above 1,600m are the preserve of hikers.
